My Story
My Goal is : Create good products to make people’s lives easier!
Hi there, my name is Karen. I’m a UX / UI designer who can code using html/css, javascript, react JS, react native, python, c++, swift etc. I have 10 years experience in web / graphic, UX / UI design and have completed a Web Development certification (GPA 3.85) 2018 Summer. My passion has been researching and using design thinking to find ways to communicate with the targeted audiences through the product. To this end, I bring together my expertise in web design, UI/UX principles, photography and visual design. I was born in Shanghai China, received a BA with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from University of Northumbria at Newcastle, UK, and have worked in international companies and traveled around China, UK and the Middle East. I moved to the United States in 2013. My diverse background and exposure to different cultures have shaped me into a problem solver and designer who understands global audiences.
I am responsible and organized with excellent attention to detail. I’m a team player that enjoys collaborating with others. I am prepared to take on any challenge, regardless of the level of complexity as I constantly expand my skill-set. I thrive on the continual acquisition of knowledge and have a reputation for being a quick learner with technology and people.
Currently, I work in a software development company, working closely with our company development & QA team and our client’s global design & development team. Communicate with them in daily standup meeting and help to organize the design system, produce wireframes, UI design mockups, prototypes, React JS / React Native code that contributed to user-centered design efforts our project web app and mobile app. Creation of more intuitive site navigation by eliminating misleading labels and unnecessary clicks. Work closely with our QA people and improve our web app and mobile app. Managed QA and Usability testing our web app product and create document to share with teams. Defined testing parameters, create prototypes, and doing facilitated tests and reported results. Also join the redesign and development process.
I love art, psychology, communication, travel, photography, makeup, hiphop dance, and playing piano. I totally enjoy what I do and my goal is to design good products to help people make their lives easier.

UI Designer at Nidaan Systems Inc.
In charge of creating company design systems, company website, and internal site. Attend daily stand-up meeting and collaborate with global teams for designing and developing our client’s website and mobile app. Job responsibilities include creating the UI/UX design (organizing design systems, creating user flow, wireframes, prototypes, hi-fi mock-ups), improving design according to the feedback directly from our users or user testing team, front-end coding, user testing and usability testing. Also helping company recruit & interview people, representing company at recruiting events, making training plans, creating tutorials, and training new employees.
